About Chef Peter Beck
Born in New Delhi, India, Chef Peter Beck has brought his global experience to New York after working in the UK, Singapore, Thailand, and Hong Kong. A James Beard “Top Chef of 2002” and Michelin Star winner at Tamarind and Benares, Chef Beck is a spice expert and culinary innovator. His passion for Indian cuisine drives Raasa Express NY’s distinctive, diverse menu.
Owners Ashok Salian & Priya Kapoor-Salian
Raasa Express NY is owned by husband and wife Ashok Salian and Priya Kapoor-Salian. They met while working at J.W. Marriott in Phoenix and later helped launch Tamarind Tribeca, where they met Chef Peter Beck. Priya manages front-of-house and catering, while Ashok leads back-of-house and creates Raasa Express NY’s signature cocktails.
